A Widow’s Walk
June 5th to 7th, 2023
There is always grief for what is lost and always surprise at what is to be born… Mark Nepo
One week into being a widow I felt drugged, hung over, and in recovery from some altered state. When major change is thrust upon you (not just death, but also divorce, illness or a fall from grace), you find yourself in an overwhelming struggle that involves giving up and giving in.
When every element of living crumbles, you’re truly forced to fortify or fall. The essence of agony is that something must change, sooner than later, as the only life you can save is your own. For there is no compensation for an unlived life.
I’ve been blessed to be a mentor and friend to women all over the world. By telling my story, I have helped other’s navigate their own storms, stages and stagnations. For them and for me, this might be the most important story so far, my descent into grief and my ascent into ultimate reality.
Rather than be labeled a widow or a crone, you have the opportunity to become a wise woman who has been catapulted into a new phase. Strike the match. Reignite the flame. Embrace the individual you were born to be and join us for an inspirational weekend.
Location: The Surfside Inn Chatham, MA
The retreat begins Monday June 5th at 3PM and concludes noon on Wednesday June 7th.
This humble abode provides a relaxed atmosphere for women seeking a casual seaside weekend. It sits on a knoll overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. Just steps away from a beach on which to enjoy your morning coffee or a glass of wine.
This retreat is for women who have experienced a loss of a spouse/partner through death, illness or divorce. This is not a grief support group. Rather it is for women seeking a new direction after loss.
